Playa Caribe beach: cave-2.jpg

This is a low "room" inside the first cave you come to at the west end of Playa Caribe beach. This cave is easy to get to (only a short distance past where the rocky region begins). It has 3 entrances, so you can see at least one entry/exit from any part of the small cave, and it is fairly well lighted. It is about 35 to 40 feet long. Several more caves are farther to the west in the rocky areas, and there are some more small, somewhat private isolated beaches, as well as interesting rock structures -- reminds me of the Baths in the BVI (British Virgin Islands). The floor of this cave is all soft, dry sand. The series of caves are great for spelunkers and adventurers. Tip: it would be best to explore the caves at low tide, as some of the further ones can be a bit challenging to get to at high tide, especially if you are carrying a camera or other stuff.
